FAQs

What is this test?

The test checks the fluid from a nasal swab for proteins from RSV called antigens. These antigens trigger your immune system to attack the virus.

What happens during an RSV test?

A healthcare professional will place a nasal swab up the nose to collect a sample. Tests should be done in the first few days of symptoms, as the amount of virus in your nose decreases over time, potentially resulting in a less accurate test.

How long do results take?

The rapid test results take an hour or less and can be determined during your visit.

Do I need to prepare for the test?

This is a simple, low-risk test with no special preparation required.
