While sports and camp physicals serve slightly different purposes, the procedures are identical. You can walk in anytime for these services.
Immigration and Wellness Physicals
Immigration physicals and wellness checks/annual physicals are more comprehensive and require an appointment.
About Sports Physicals
A sports physical, also known as a school physical or pre-participation physical exam (PPE), assesses if your child is fit to participate in a specific sport or activity. These physicals are typically required for starting a new sport or season or participating in extracurricular activities. Even if not required, we recommend getting a physical before your child starts any new competitive sport. Camp physicals, often required for camp attendance, ensure your child can safely join in camp activities.
What’s Included in a Sports/Camp Physical
A sports/camp physical consists of a medical history review and a physical exam. The medical history review includes questions about past illnesses and injuries such as asthma, allergies, or broken bones. Inform the care provider about any family medical history or medications your child regularly takes. It’s also important to mention if your child has ever fainted, felt dizzy, or experienced chest pain while running or playing.
